It’s comes from only one source in Utah and it’s majorly Gatekept!! ✨
Most of the material extracted was actually crushed for its Beryllium content and used for electronics and aerospace so very little made it to the crystal market.
The mine is said to now be closed and so no new material is being extracted.
Currently, once all of the raw material is used…. That’s it!!
The mine used to be open to the public, to collect the pieces left over from the mining process that day. This was until someone disregarded the safety processes, hurt themselves and sued the mine!!!
Since then, the public were never allowed back to collect this gorgeous raw material, giving only the workers of the mine the ability to acquire the rough.
Many pieces that you see today are a product of raw Tiffany being kept by the mines workers, followed up and purchased 20/30 years later to be made into polished pieces for the crystal market.
The mining of Beryllium continues at a different location now but sadly Tiffany Stone as we know it has not been uncovered there.
